The fighters of PFC 54 have officially stepped on the scale ahead of Saturday night’s event at Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls, Texas, with the majority of the card making weight and three fighters coming in above their contracted limits.

The event, which takes place Sept. 26, will be headlined by former Peak Fighting heavyweight champion Braxton Smith against undefeated Khetag “Mustang” Sabeev. Smith weighed in at 253.3 pounds, while Sabeev came in at 251.9 pounds. Your main event is official.

Three Fighters Miss Weight

Three fighters missed their contracted weights during Friday’s official weigh-ins: Dahlen Wilson, Broc Terry and Jacob Galloway.

Wilson, nicknamed “The Black Dragon,” weighed 186.1 pounds for his middleweight matchup against Kris Vereen, who weighed 183.8 pounds.

Terry came in at 177.8 pounds ahead of his welterweight matchup with Billy “The Preacher” Diggin Graves, who weighed 173 pounds.

Jacob Galloway, also known as “Jake the Saiyan,” weighed 156.3 pounds for his matchup against Braiden Boaz, who came in at 155.1 pounds.

A Card Packed With Firepower

With the scale officially behind them, the fighters of PFC 54 have one last night to wait before stepping into the cage. Once the action begins, there will be plenty to keep an eye on in Wichita Falls.

The heavyweight main event brings two different powerhouses and two different stories together. Braxton “The Beautiful Monster” Smith is a former Peak Fighting heavyweight champion and former UFC competitor at 5-3, with a 100% finishing rate collected through his five professional wins. Those victories have come by first-round KO or TKO, making Smith one of the card’s biggest threats to end the night early.

Standing across from him will be Khetag “Mustang” Sabeev, who enters the matchup undefeated at 3-0. Sabeev most recently stopped Eric Lunsford by first-round TKO at PFC 52, adding another finish to an already perfect professional record. This alone gives the main event plenty of potential fireworks, but the rest of the card has its own collection of fighters with something to prove.

Jacoryon “The Golden Child” Larry returns after appearing at PFC 52, this time facing Nicolas “Nico the Bear” Torres. Michael Dugan is also back after earning a victory at PFC 52, while Michael Easter returns after competing on the same card.

For the fighters further down the card, PFC 54 represents another opportunity to build momentum, make a statement, and put themselves on the radar of fans watching for the next regional standout. That is part of what makes a Peak FC card unpredictable: the biggest story of the night does not always belong to the fighter whose name is printed at the top.
